OFW abuse: Employer abuses Filipino house helper by beating her up and scalding her with hot water
More and more OFW’s are suffering abroad and are probably never going to get justice. Being powerless and abused in another country is very common, yet the government is not doing anything to help these heroes.

A recent post on Facebook has been shared more than 90,000 times, wherein a picture of an abused OFW was attached. According to the post, the woman works as a house helper in Abu Dhabi. She has been suffering abuse from her employers and has not been given her wages. It can be seen in the picture that her thigh was scalded probably with hot water. She has a black eye and a small cut to the forehead due to the beatings she has suffered in the hands of her employer.
The original post read:

(She is a housekeeper here in Abu Dhabi and this is what happened to her. She was burnt with hot water while she was being kicked and beaten up. She is not given her wages and she needs help. Please share this so that her family will know what has happened to her here in Abu Dhabi. Thanks)

Though there is not much information about the woman in the picture, many netizens are urging the person who posted to help the woman get to the Philippine embassy in Abu Dhabi.
It is sad and frustrating for many Filipinos at home who could not do anything to save our suffering heroes abroad. With the hard life in the Philippines, many people still aspire to work abroad despite the numerous news and stories about OFW’s being constantly abused.
